If there's something we can't go without for a day, it's cat memes.

Every cat pawrent can't go without their cat for long, that's for sure. We know it from ourselves, really. But there have been times when our cat was without us for a little while - mainly on vacations. We would either leave them with the caring hands of our roommate, when we shared the apartment, or we would bring a cat-sitter to keep our cat safe and happy. But that means that we're not with our cat every single day. We know, it's not a happy thing to say, but vacations happen and we all know it. Unfortunately, our cat is not the hiking cat type.

But if there's really a single thing, one and only, that we can't go without for even a whole day, it's cat memes. It's not because we're some meme lords (well, some of us are), but it's because we love cats (and ours in particular) so much, that we can't have a day without any cat memes seen. And it's not that all these online feline funnies are on a higher priority for us than our actual cat. Not at all. But all these cat memes are much more immediate, and our cat… she's a house princess, and there's nothing we can do about it.

  • If you have two cats, you probably have one of the Bouba type and one of the Kiki type. The Bouba/Kiki effect is a psychological phenomenon describing how the human brain automatically and universally associates certain speech sounds with specific visual shapes. When presented with two abstract shapes (one round and blob-like, one sharp and spiky), roughly 95% of people will intuitively name the round shape "Bouba" and the spiky shape "Kiki", when these two options are given. Now, imagine the cats named Bouba and Kiki, and you know exactly what we mean by that. Every cat pawrent who owns two cats has a Bouba and a Kiki, regardless of their actual names.
